Born in the midst of the great 1980's cocaine binge Garrett J Reed grew up in central California, surrounded by nature on his parents’ sixty-acre compound. Although his childhood was standard, with all the normal cub-scouting and tree climbing parents and teachers alike could tell at quite an early age that Garrett was bound for greatness. The only question would be how to direct this power to do good?

Fast Forward 18 years, our man Garrett has walked away from a full ride athletic scholarship at Pepperdine University. Citing a grand distain for the decadence of the culture surrounding Pepperdine, and that he was greatly depressed by the emptiness which material possessions failed to fill, in her students. After three miserable months of trying to fit into a place filled with people he had been raised to pity, not respect, he left. That action was the beginning to a very, very long struggle against popular culture and our decaying society.

Since Leaving Pepperdine University Garrett has spearheaded many small social demonstrations, and action groups. His current endeavor ARevolutionWithin.com is a political and social forum striving to bring artists together in a constructive fashion in order to bring about worldwide change. Before this he worked in the record industry for six years in both marketing and artist & repertoire divisions of several major labels. After a deal he initiated between a long time friend and the label he was representing went sour, leaving his friendship in tatters he resigned his position. Now with help from some great people in the industry he is laying the foundations for a brand new label, which is 100% about the art of music, and 100% not about profits. Experimentation is encouraged and loss is acceptable, as long as progression occurs.

Beyond his work in the music industry, Garrett has also worked very hard at school. Earning bachelors degrees in international business, Latin America focus, and Geological Sciences from San Diego State University. Currently he is pursuing a master's in Soil Science. During his undergrad years he was very involved in campus politics, running campaigns for candidates and demonstrating against many social problems. Mostly he fought against pop-culture, high fashion, and over consumption, which all-go hand in hand. One group he ran, the anti-ugg boot coalition, was featured on regional news for their fierce rejection of social norms, and the decadence of SDSU.
